Facebook has announced new updates aimed at reducing “clickbait” headlines, designed to attract attention and tempt visitors to click on a link (such as the one that heads this same news), within the actions it seeks to combat Misleading or sensational news and spam.
Last year the company updated the social media ‘News Feed’ to reduce the number of stories from ‘clickbait’ headlines that conceal or exaggerate information, which has served as a basis for new updates introduced by the company. Company, as explained in a statement.

Facebook will now take account of the clickbaits at the individual publishing level, in addition to the domain and Page level, in order to reduce the clickbait headlines in a more precise way. In addition, the company will now see separately whether a holder hides information or if, on the contrary, exaggerates it. And all of them in more additional languages.

The measures that Facebook takes against this type of publications makes ‘posts’ with headlines of the ‘clickbait’ type appear below in the ‘News Feed’.
Beyond this, from the company have assured that most of the Pages will not see significant changes in its diffusion. On the contrary, publishers who rely on clickbait headlines should expect their circulation to decrease.
